    untitled

Look behind you and see wreckage and sorrow
its cold hand like a vice grasps
trying to pull you back down
    down into its swirling vortex
the waves of despair crash at your feet

And bit by bit, brick by brick
you build around yourself a fortress
barring all thats thrown at you
    until inside you sit
    numb and alone

    but im watching
    and i know your loneliness
i feel your fear of pain
i want to shout to you -
Let the walls of your heart crumble for me
i will hold you above the cruel tide
and carry you thru the storm

look ahead and you see vibrant blues and greens and sunshine
never again will shades of gray burden you
    nor darkness way you down
let love in and let love conquer
    the fortress of your soul.

I'm stuck in thoughts here... hmmm.... imagery... yes... that is great!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
