There's a touch-tone phone next to my bed
I called you, you answered then the phone went dead
I know you're there and you're all alone
Let me hear your voice not some dial tone

If you've lost my number dial 411
What has happened is over, believe me it's done
    Call 911 they'll say it's a crime
Give me a chance, give me some more ime

No one could replace the love that we shared
I'm sorry, forgive me show me you care
I can't say I know what you are feeling
That girl I was with was never appealing

Hello. please say something I hear you sighing
Talk into the phone baby please stop your crying
Talk to my face and not some damn answer machine
You can leave a message it won't be obscene

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
