    Love can be lost when you least expect it.

    Used to Be's

     Used to be that love was all we needed to survive
    Because love was always there to see us through
    But you and I will never see forever because something died
    And there is nothing either one of us can do

    Because it is too late to change the way things are
    We have gone beyond the point of no return
    It is so sad we let it come to this
    We have had every chance that love allows
    And even love can not save us now

    Remember when we laughed and saw no danger of goodbye
    Our love was strong, we worked it out somehow
    But that was then and now there is silence in this room
    That love is gone and no one is laughing now

    A sad write of a relationship living past its prime. When only silence fills the void it makes for a lonely time. Ten for this write.

    another poignant and personal write ... connecting with so many ... perhaps ... love can go on, but growth does not always allow the same depth of connection through a lifetime ... wow, and the starry-eyed love of innocent youth, indeed, can lack ... imagination ... for what might be ... acknowledging the goodbye ... can be most difficult when the person known no longer exists ... how we cling to old pictures ... interesting, thoughtful write ... -dh
