    Vet

    When loneliness sets in

    When I’m left to myself

There’s nothing to block out or distract

    The Faces

    The Memories

    The Ghost

    Of all that I’ve lost

    All that I’ve taken

    In war

    Back at home

    From haunting my Heart

Finding only peace, in the sunset

With a moment of reflection to myself

    I live on

With brood force some will try

To force their way into my Heart

    It’s not their place

    When I’m ready

I’ll let the right one in

    Walking with memories

Can be Dangerous for my sanity

    Listening to ghost

Can be Dangerous for my Heart

    Seeing the faces

Can only remind me that I did my duty

    I did not hesitate

I’m left with a life lesson

That no other will ever understand

This is the way I feel

    For I am a Man

    A Warrior

    A Combat Vet
