Walk Away

Walk Away

The end is near, and now we must part
No tears, no anger, no broker heart

A sense of relief, and glimpse of hope
No more anguish, for I will not mope

It seems so clear, my eyes finally wide
No broke promises, no feelings to confide

The past has gone, and today is a new light
No longer dreary, awaiting a new fight

My body is awaken, and I know your not the one
The only thing left, is our son

Walk from this life, and leave me to be
I've opened my eyes, and finally can see

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
