Waltz to My Song...Written in memory of a great mom and dad.

The first two tracks are mine and the third is a song I used to play and sing for my mom and dad when I was 16 years old, it was their favorite.

WALTZ TO MY SONG

If only I could find a way to travel back in time.

Where mommy and daddy towed that line.

I’d let them know I loved it when they twitched my ear.

Oh if I could just tell them I loved having them near.

I’d travel for miles just to see those wonderful smiles.

I’d give anything to hear their footsteps along the tiles.

They gave me unconditional love like no other known.

They understood me, forgave me and I was never alone.

Oh what I’d give to go back again to where it all began.

The home and parents that made me the man I am.

Here I am lost in the memory of the days gone bye,

My heart is dropping bleeding tears and wants to cry.

Looking for the words that will make them happy to hear,

Words that will let them know that I’ll always be near.

I’m shedding my tears on the script as I write this song.

Mommy and daddy if you hear me walze to my song.

Chorus

Put your arms around one another and remember me

You gave me life, made me strong, and set me free.

Put your arms around one another and hold those hands

The hands you held out to me that made me strong and set me free.

Remember me mommy and daddy as I remember you.

I have my own little ones now, you left before you knew.

If only I can be the parent you were, they’ll remember me too as I remember you.

Waltz to my song, Waltz to my song,

Mommy and Daddy it’s been so long.

Soon I’ll be along,

So waltz to my song.

Gosh I just found this piece of poetry while I am searching the web to find help to get you out of the snowy mess...stuck in the mts. I hope you phoned 911 and hope this wasn't just a joke, Big Daddy. If it is scout honors and not your over-creative genius of a mind.......then yell holler if its scouts honor and I will put out an alert.........P.S. this is really really a lovely song and the waltz is my favorite dance and your ma and pa must be smiling down at their irrascible incorrigible rascal. mamasan

Oh how beautiful your heart and mind is...you just take my breath away. You have one unique and pure gift and it shows in your incredible poetry and the words in your private messages...I love you for all that you do, I can feel your emotion and I feel you like a butterfly opening your wings and soaring to great inquisitive heights. So glad you're my friend...you are like sunshine, and even though I haven’t seen your smile I know it is filled with grace. If you like this song go listen to Beautiful Dreamer At Bay. LOL, BDC

One of the greatest gifts a parent can give their child is the security of devotion to their spouse, the other parent.

Thanks for the comment. I wrote this song for a local song writing contest and it took second place out of 2500 entries. I play the guitar and I like to write my own songs. If you listened to the audio I tried to play the melody on the harmonica but I'm just learning the harmonica so what I played wasn't that good. At least I tried. LOL, BDC

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
