    War, Peace and Tears

    We killed to survive

We picked up the pieces of each other

    For one another

    We returned home

    For the ones we Love

For the ones we left behind

    Faced with home and peace

    Didn’t feel the same

    Long walks and talks

    She was everything to me

    Lost Love

    Broken Heart

    Tear’s over there

    Tears over here

    There is no place

    Free from Tears

    Reflecting on what I’ve learned

Life is full of pain, joy and a mix of feelings

    I’ll never forget the faces

    Her words or touch

At the end of some days

    Tears will follow

    -Fin-

I've heard a lot about how changed a man (or woman) feels upon returning from active duty and the effects the changes cause in their lives. I've known men who've lost their girlfriends/wives both during the time they've setved our country, and soon after returning. Most of them seem to feel like they are not allowed to talk about how they feel--like they can't express themselves and still call themselves a man. Poems like this are the reason I'm glad this site exists. I hope that getting it off your chest helps you to feel better. And don't worry! You will find a good, Christian, country lovin' girl eventually! (Lol I read your profile :P ) Beautiful poem and very well written!

Wonderful opening lines, well expressed. I think this one could have ended with "There is no place/Free from tears."

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
