Waves

    Waves

Watching the wave storming towards shore,
only to weaken in the end,
that is how love was for me before,
when i had my heart to defend.

The emotions surged forth with such might,
appearing like it would not lessen,
not knowing the refraction of sight,
nor my stubbornness not to listen.

Just as those waves weaken, so did i,
i did not have the strength to storm on,
just as the shore caused the waves to die,
i couldn't sing the last note of my song.

thanks for your kind words, really appreciated it.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
