She fills the drink glass half way
liquid fire quick & clear burns
dash with flavors of juice
she knows the truth but can't see
It's killing them, her, and me.

She speaks to me of the surface
things situational to each day
daughter pours out her fifths
Self has become something she can't live with again.

We've watched you baby, doused in grain
convincing yourself it's not the end
the clouds cover us all  with doom
the crutch you use is an early tomb.

You are funny, beautiful and intelligent
making bad decisions doesn't make you bad
see it, own it, change a little each morn
each day you rise you can be reborn over and over.

In her madness she gives up on life
does she know what it does to them?
they lose themselves in live video games
not wanting to think it will be the same.

She put that storm over their heads
not realizing what her needs do
they just want a parent to be there,
to know they come first in her cares unquestionably.
