What A Light

There is a light
Beyond my window
But I fear
It to be fire
So warm at touch
Yet so cold to feel
Inside

My heart
Has frozen over
Enclosing hope
And the smallest of desires
Only to release
A mask
Of emotions
Expressions
And reactions

The fire
That I fear
Is licking at this window
This icy window
Of my heart
Getting closer
To my core
With every touch
Of its lacy flames

What's this
That has warmed
This icy soul
Of mine?

What is this
That has gently opened
This once frozen heart
Of mine?

And I question
What is this
That has welcomed itself
Into such a desolate place
As my heart
So humbly
And willingly?

Has Death
Embraced my soul?

Have flames
Engulfed my being?

No
I believe love
Has made it's home
