    Poem Commentary

Mobility and speed that's the keyword for modernity...Instant pleasure, instant everything and instant earth destruction, also instant life...Well the ancient is slow and kinda unconventional but they don't harm nature at a very fast rate...Well it's always two face of a coin...a double edge sword...we must pay for the consequence...or is this the peak of earth's history...for that i don't know..

    What's your complain now?

    Technology for mobility

    You and I use this

    For comfort and convenience

    Cars, trucks, buses, etc.

    We use this daily

    To speed the process

And transport us to our daily business

Plastics wrap the things we buy

Many things are made of plastics

It’s so cheap and easy use

    Markets praise its versatility

We in turn use it everyday

    Don’t you ever say

You never buy your stuff at malls and grocery?

And never eat at fast-food chains and café’s

    Paper works are everywhere

    Students, teachers, offices and all

    Use papers to preserve

    To maintain the process

    And save the knowledge

    We live in elegant houses

Do our jobs in large establishments

    Houses and establishments

    Made of woods and cement

    Run by electricity

    These are just a glimpse

    of your modern ways

    What's your complain now?

    After wallowing to your trend’s

    Comfort and convenience?

    That the world is warm

And it is in danger and harm?

You boldly point out the loggers

    And smoke emitting industries

    As the sinful cause

    Of earth’s havoc

    Before complaining man,

    Look at your present lifestyle

    The loggers, factories

    And all the industries

    Work like that

    To support your modern needs

    Haven’t you benefited from it?

After all, no one would produce

If no one will consume it

Before I call you a “total hypocrite”

    Would you summon your scientists

    To cure your nature’s illness?

Or go back to manual labour

    If you’d like

Or dismiss yourself from modern trend

    Go back in the jungle

    Where your ancestors live

    In your Tarzan ways

I will no longer blame you

As one of the sinful masses

    Who have their fair share

    In earth’s damage

A strong reminder of the true cost of 'civilization,' 'progress,' or 'technology.' Same enemy, different names; are any of them disposable?

Great poem, I like the way you put it together. First observing, then condemning...with righteous judgment. cool

SImply beautiful. This analogy is an eye opener. The soothing technology for us; the greedy kind that pollutes and does not appreciate the gift of earth from up above has grown so rapidly throughout the ages and soon will inflict fear upon our hearts...only a matter of time. This is a well-written piece. Great job!
