    I love dogs...Always have and always will. nothing else is such a thrill.
    This is for Martha Louise and her sister, Gabriella, Milo, James, Simon, Molly, Josephine, Rachel, Ivy, Gordo and his brother, Griffin, Charlie, Sophie, Tallis, Mouse, Chelsea, Zoe, Bruno, Casey, Gina, Jack, Gretchen and Heidi and possibly Lena and Annie, and all the other dogs that chose me to love them. I will NEVER forget them.

    What Do Dogs Dream About?

     What do dogs dream about
    While thery are puppies?
    How to garbage about
    In the homes of their yuppies
    What do dogs dream about
    When they are one?
    How to steal slippers
    The fun has begun
    What do dogs dream about 
    When they are two?
    How to hide bones
    That are used to make stew
    What do dogs dream about
    When they are three?
    How to "Stay home..Stay
    While their master's will flee
    What do dogs dream about 
    when they are four?
    How to open and close
    The most difficult door
    What do dogs dream about 
    when they are five?
    How to jump on the bed
    When a danger arrives
    What do dogs dream about 
    When they are six?
    That a trip to the vet
    Is not their first pick
    What do dogs dream about 
    When they are seven?
    How to open the fridge 
    count steaks, this is heaven
    What do dogs dream about 
    when they are eight?
    To look into your spirit
    And carry your weight
    What do dogs dream about 
    When they are nine?
    How pillows are needed
    To keep them sublime
    What do dogs dream about 
    When they are ten?
    That their life's almost over
    And then but again....
    A dog will live on 
    In your heart and your soul
    The antics, and wise looks
    And drinks from the bowl
    So what do I do
    In a life with no dog?
    Remember quite clearly
    you love them so dearly
    Their souls are not merely 
    Just Dead, when they're gone.

    Lucinda! I Love This One!!! It makes me remember my 2 sheppards Sasha and Shultz. They were littermates that I adopted from the ASPCA when they were 3. Shultz passed at 11 and Sasha at 12. I loved them both Dearly and this poem reminds me of the precious time we had together. Saving to my faves and a definate 10! Great Job! ..... Ken

    Hi Ken, I had two sheperds too. One was hit by a car right in front of me, and one was poisined by a crazy runner who thought he might attack her. I adored both of my sheperds, James and Milo. It still hurts to write their names.

    I really love this poem and it made me reminisce about when I had a minature poodle dog years ago.Whenever I was feeling sad he would make all different kinds of silly facial expressions and do all different kinds of goofy things;I guess to make me laugh.It always worked.He died of old age (he was 14 years old) and I miss him,but have some great memories of him.Thanks for sharing this excellent poem.
