Poem Commentary

Heard the music in my head first. Wish I could play something sweet. This should be a song.

What's in the Fridge?

Wish I had the strength to lie here,
 here with you, so still,
no thrill, just until,
but you've got the strength to move me.

Wish I had the strength to die ,
die right here in your arms, feasting on you charms,
ignoring the alarms, just no harm,
You've got the touch that southes me.

Holding back, rolling back, and turning around,
reaching higher ground,
 and not falling down.
Just use me.

Wish I had the nerve to try,
try  to see, right inside of your heart,
a move not so smart, don't start,
cause every time you lose me.

I wish I had the nerve to cry, tears,
tears that could pry loose,
your hold upon my heart.
I pray to God you loose me.

Stepping back, reaching back,
what have I found, reasons abound,
shoes of a clown, who's wearing a frown.
Abuse me.

Wish I had the faith to fly,
fly through an open door, not touching the floor,
like you before, not caring anymore,
 so you can't confuse me.

Wish I had the faith to see,
see the darkness in your eyes,
the truth behind your lies,  your endless alibis.
Truth would you please amuse me?

Looking back,dreaming back,
to the days before your sack, was better off with the lack,
before I fell into the crack.
Long before you knew me.

I heard a quote once that really reminds me of this, "The one you love the greatest, has the most potential to be the one you hate the greatest." Feelings of affection can go so deep, and when things sour those sames feelings can be just as deep in a resentful way. Loved this poem and I loved the way you captured how helpless one can feel against their lover's will.

The sadness, longing, and confusion are palpable in this one. You can recover from hurt like this. Write your way through the sadness and remember to find something your grateful for everyday Great write............E

I love the flow and adventure this poem took me on , i held my breath for seconds , starting over again , just to keep up the pace and rhyme ,

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
