What's So Special?

Poem Commentary

How do I love you? Let me count the ways...haha

What's So Special?

You say that you don't see
What's so special about you.
I could name a million attributes
But here are just a few:

It's the way you flash that smile,
The one that makes me blush.
It's the way you turn me on
With the slightest little touch.

It's the way your silver hair
Fall perfectly in place.
How even when I'm sad,
You put a smile upon my face.

It's the scent of your skin,
How it lingers when you're gone.
It's your creative mind,
The things you write, the things you've drawn.

Such a strapping man,
Yet you can play just like a child.
With a glance in my direction,
You make my thoughts run wild.

You can jam to rap or country,
You love music of all kinds.
Even when I'm tense,
With you I can unwind.

It's the look from those brown eyes
That pierces through my soul.
You never try to change me,
Abuse me or control.

Your patience that could surely
Outlast any clock.
Though I've built up walls and chains,
For you, they're easy to unlock.

The way you put up
With my attitude.
You don't ever get mad
When I'm childish and rude.

You are there to console me
When I need a friend.
I can talk to you
For hours on end.

I can be silly with you
Without feeling like a fool.
You seldom lose your temper.
You're collected, calm, and cool.

The big dreams that never leave you,
Packed away inside your mind.
The way that you hustle,
The way that you shine.

It's your love your your dogs,
For your whole family.
You step up and take care
Of your responsibilities.

I hate when you go,
You leave me wanting more.
I light up like the sun
When you walk through the door.

It's the butterflies you give me.
The way that we play.
Somehow you always know
The perfect words to say.

The way you make me feel
When I'm curled up in your arms.
Worries disappear.
I'm lost in your charm.

You gave me a son
Just as handsome as you.
When I look in his eyes
All my dreams come true.

If there's ever a time,
You forget what you're worth,
Smile and know, to me,
You're the hottest man on Earth.
