WHEN HE COMES

Poem Commentary

I know the bible says Christ could come at any time like a thief in the night. I was just reflecting on this and trying to picture the day.

WHEN HE COMES

WHEN HE COMES

When he comes, I’ll drop, my knees will bend

When he calls, I’ll wait to hear my name

The trumpets blast from the clouds he’ll send

His glorious throne engulfs him like a flame

When he comes, when he calls

I hope I’m ready

Yes it’s true; we don’t know the day or hour

He may come like a thief in the night

I’ll cast eyes down from such a holy power

I won’t be fit, to look at such a sight

When he comes, when he calls

I want to be ready

The Bible says it could be any day

Prepare yourself and don’t get left behind

Stay in his word and don’t you start to stray

He made a promise , with him become aligned

When he comes, when he calls

I plan to be ready

It’s not too hard, believe John 3:16

Put God first, in all you think and do

Commit to Christ, there’s no one in between

Keep his commands ,that’s not too much for you

When he comes, when he calls

I’m going to be ready.

I have no doubt that you will be one of the first to be taken with God..you are simply like an angel trapped here on earth...this poem is very beautiful, powerful and i simply have no words other than those to describe it...magnificent

You know when I read the bible about two women will be working in the field and the one will vanish it gives me the shivers. What also makes me uneasy is if any of my loved ones will be left behind. I thank you for your kind words I have such a lot of work to do in me.

Yes you will be ready when the trumpet sounds! I've no doubt about that, you'll be one of the few not left behind! Beautiful!

Great poem. I like how as each new stanza is written, you gain confidence in knowing that you will be counted in "that number" when Jesus returns. By the end of the poem you say, "I'm going to be ready." This poem also serves as a great witness, bidding all to come to Jesus so that they might be saved. I enjoyed reading it. Check out my poem on the same topic, "That Day." Blessings to you...

Yet another encouraging piece from you. So inspirational and true about hoping to be ready. For all have sinned and fallen short of His glory and we are saved by His grace.

Beautiful. We all need to pray for the just in case we almost meet Him. Very lovely poem!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
