    Poem Commentary

Looking at the world and it is self destructing... I wonder what God is thinking? Is there any hope left?

    Where's the Faith?

Thinking back when I was young... GER

I remember sitting on the pew

it was the thing to do

    on Sunday's they said anyway.

I was bored to my mind

listen to the pastor wine and wine

about the end of time and stuff,

    preaching about God enough

    I said in my head,

    I mean Jesus is dead.

    I'm here I'm alive.

It's on me how I choose to shine

    my light

and if this God is so forgiving

he'll forgive me for just living

    right?

Growing up I seen the world corrupt,

    people doped up,

    smoked up,

    broke up,

    I got choked up

    but then I woke up,

    not to righteousness

    but to emptiness, ugliness

thinking this must be the devil's nest.

    A world unclean

    between the scenes

using religion like a dope fein,

    one quick hit,

    a temporary fix,

ooh that Word was some good Sugar Honey Ice Tea

    sounds sweet

    but action speaks

    louder then words

    wondering who heard

    the word I heard.

    Don't they care,

    don't they fear,

    are they aware,

    we bare the same cross,

we all get lost and tossed

    between decisions about religion.

    The years go on

    been scorned, worn, reformed

    and still get torn, Reborn.

I yearn to learn how a nation

    succumbs to sin and temptation,

    over Salvation,

can't escape suffering, trials and tribulations.

    The choices we make

    are our mistakes to correct,

we have to put ourselves in check,

we have to get order in our lives,

    Jesus died, so we'll survive.

His blood is on our hands.

    Can we truly understand?

    Why we exist,

its not supposed to be like this,

we're not supposed to be perfect.

    I breathe that's why I believe,

    why I receive the unseen.

Now all the preaching, is reaching me.

The Word of God, is teaching me,

    one with God, completing me.

    There's still hope for humanity,

    the devil is abnormality,

it's we that make him reality.

How do we determine the truth from fiction

when our illusions are our own convictions,

    with restrictions.

Someone has to want to fight,

someone has to feel the plight.

It's up to us to make it right.

So on Sunday's while sitting on the pew,

remember these words I testified to you

and when the preacher says in God we trust,

wonder if God has faith in US...

Very powerful and strong emotion. This peace gives the release of the poetry that is a letter to self. this flowed nicely together each line is a symbol of your self and you gracefully push it in paper this made me think about the purpose of life like I always do thank you for this write I believe he does and after feeling really sluggish and angry at self this peace brought great thoughts.

It is emotional. It's my walk through faith and my belief in God and how I went from believing in Him and believing in the corruption within His people... Thanks for your comment!

Yep, another good one. This fired off all kinds of thoughts in my head about the grace of God, the expectations we put on ourselves that arent necessarily good for us ( being "good enough"), the power of simply loving others that really show people the God in us. The ineffectiveness of oration when Love (God) is not it's energizer. And many more. Keep on keepin' on. Peace be with you.

. . Great write.. Although I'm not into God and religion, I can feel this poem, great expression and feeling, I can feel you in this. I think this you write, is much more than God and religion, it's much more of self and recognition, and belief in. Anyway my dear, this was an awesome poem. Much Peace - Much Love -Ming.

It's hard to believe in anything with all the destruction and corruption going on in the world but like they say "I rather live as if there is a God and die to find there isn't... I attempt to be inspirational verses spiritual because people have diversity in their beliefs and in their lives... I have to keep an open mind if I expect others too... Thanks for your comment!

And the asnwer is, "Yes" You are my witnesses, He says. And He waits. . . .to give more grace. Keep the faith. Harv

That is why I write... Thanks!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
