Whispering Woods

Poem Commentary

I wrote this while sitting in the woods of northern Wisconsin watching my doggy play & run free. I had been on my way back from the tribal clinic and just wanted time to sit, ponder life. This poem is the result of my pondering....

Whispering Woods

There is wisdom in the woods
if one just listens closely
to the gentle breeze caressing the woods

if one just

opens their heart, their mind
to the whispering woods

one will hear the wisdom which will  guide us
on life's path

one will learn the wisdom
as our ancestors learned

yes, the whispering woods
holds the wisdom to sustain peoples

 Listen!
