    White Memories

I lie awake thinking of the snow
My mind is blank...White and opaque like that of a movie screen
And I see it there...The curves of your face and the dimples in your cheeks
Kissing your forehead and cupping your face into my hands like that of a prayer sent from above or below or the direction of good
Smiles play across your epidermis and through your pupils
Fingers wisp down my shoulders  and caress tenderly through my hair
You smell of ginger and warm vanilla and makes my senses aware
The sun sets low and casts an amarillo sheen to your entire body
    My golden idol...My Apollo
Soft touch only a lover could understand embraces my body
Lips guided by the heart explore every length of skin
My soul is made complete lying there thinking of the snow
Remembering what was once a note in the song of my life
Death comes to us all but memories never cease to exist
Just like you in my minds eye
    So warm and soft
    Brown eyes flashing and artistic
    Hands creating
My heart will never let you go
Its roots have dug so deep
Scenes of high and low points and I yearn to see you smile again
    Like a schoolgirl crush
    Your sultry voice hypnotizes me
    Baritone to the absolute end
Embracing you eternally without ever turning back

LoL...Thanks so much, Passion. No, this is about a guy. A guy that I lost because he died in a car accident. That's what I meant by the "death comes to us all" part. I think about him alot and the moments that we shared. We never had sex or anything like that but the hugs and kisses and sunsets were my favorite. :-)

Your use of metaphor and unique statements (casts an Amarillo sheen) is what really makes this poem interesting. While some might see this as a melancholy poem, I do not see it as so. The poem demonstrates a very deep grasp of how the voice of it feels about this person. I would change one thing and that is to remove the word "As" from the beginning. The use of it removes the reader from experiencing the poem.

Wow, great imagery in this poem. It's a sad poem but at the same time it's deep, I like the style its more free flowing. Keep it up!! HUGS
