    Who Am I?

    Who Am I

There are many faces that make up who I am

    Many faces, many names

All are part of the whole picture

One cannot survive without the other

We all have jobs to do

    We think for ourselves

We feel the pain that we take on

We help the one who hurts the most

We try to take the pain away

The pain is gone from time to time

But it never really leaves for long

    Who are we?

We are the ones who hide from the rest

We are the ones who keep the sanity

We are the ones that make it through

We are the ones that you don't know about

We are the ones that hide

    Who am I?

If I told you who I am, you might not like me

Therefore it is easier to not tell you

    It might scare you away

    It might scare you away

It might make you think differently about me

It might make you want to leave

    It is hard to explain

How do I explain who I am

    How can I tell you?

If I were to tell you...

Would I still be the same?

Would you even like me anymore?

The journey to self realization starts with such a simple question. In the beginning, it's mostly in building up one's self worth. When they stablize themselves, they get past their subconscious programming to see clearly. What we have here in the poem is the beginning step to the full experience for self realization

Lady, I like what you are saying here. We do tend to show people only the parts of ourselves we think they are comfortable with. It' sad really, because it's all the other facets of us that make us interesting.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
