WHY?

  • I just lost the love of my life, my heart & my soul, my Dad. The strength that I used to hold on to, is gone. But I know, he's living in my heart forever. From the day he went, I realized that all this while, throughout the struggles, pain, sorrow even until the day he passed, I was on my own, standing and breathing. I learn that, even as a woman, we don't really need to count on someone else to survive. Love is pain, and lose it, sucks. But I'm strong. I don't need to lean on anybody to get up

WHY?

Why?

By Annie

Why?

Why should human

Use words and blame

Acting while cursing

Making this thought thinking?

Why?

Why should I suffer?

Accepting those words

In pain with those curses

Leaving the questions with clueless?

Why?

Why should people

Making the “explanation” complicated

As hard as the stone

To be broke and released?

Why?

Why can’t people

Read this perturb mind

Through these eyes the words hiding

Behind its blackness and coldness gaze?

Why?

Why and why?

Should I walk along the desert?

With bare feet walking with jaded

Stepping the roughness of the ways

Dropping the tears while it’s a waste?

why?

Why does human

Still create the questions

Questions of everything

Everything leads to nothing?

This heart’s sensitive

It needs the gentle touch

 For the words it hitched

Explanation can cure the rust

So why can’t I have even a little hope and space

If there’s no hope, at least a little chance?

I know how you feel. When looking at the world that's been handed to you, it's almost impossible to not ask why things are the way they are, and how could it have gotten this way. I think that we as people get caught up in the distractions in life, paying attention to our own lives, and slowly lose sight of the big picture. This is a great piece. 10 from me.

Man is preoccupied with - why is there life, instead of, how to live it better. Getting chances (or not) indicates hope and goals, as opposed to whys and why nots which, when directed to God, really don't amount to much as they're incessant and inactive questions. Am I close on the interpretation? Yet another light, though important, piece of poetic ephemera. You are truly one delightful and prodigious poet! Reflective write! It gets a 10 but I'm gonna give it a 10 because it really rates a 10!! : )

indeed... we questioning, but never get the answer, at least, correctly, never appreciate life, and losing hope when there's no explanation of everything. but when we back to god, and forgiving our own self, we realize that, others dnt matter anymore.. thanks stardrift

The words of despair and very touching and unique all of us ask this same question I'm glad you were brave enough to express it thru great words of poetry this poem is very good and I enjoy the thought behind reading this.

thank you.. and yes, those questions been playing in our mind, and it's complicated when we still keep it in there, so not the "brave" is matter, it's just to express the feeling is better so that people notice it and give others another chance...thanks once again for your comment

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
