Wise words; or a foolish dream

Wise words;
They can be listened to;
just simply ignored;

Some call them a foolish dream;
Others believe there is no wisdom,
Yet I say,

Who's the greater fool?
Fool who knows?
Or the wise man who doesn't know?

No use beating yourself up;
About past mistakes;
Learn from them;

Don't use them to destroy yourself and others;
Some have said to me;
When have you become so wise;

I answer simply;
Looking at myself for answers;
And not others;

To know I am responsible for me;
For my own actions;
Knowing for each action there is a reaction,

Consequenses;
I must be ready for them;
Every deed has them,

Good;
Bad;
and most certainly the ugly;

When I've started to build myself;
Instead of destroying;
Simplest;

possibly the easiest answer;
When I started to love myself;
And not hate....

A search within ones self is made even more precious by sharing the journey with others.

That's lovely :-) and yes you do have to love yourself, faults and all before another can truly love and appreciate you and before your really open to loving another xx

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
