Wish Him Well

  • Very excited and very grateful. My son Michael will be coming back to American soil in about 12 days I want to thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes and strength.

Wish Him Well

He closed his eyes
And breathed his last.
His spirit continued to hover
O'er his body.
The room was consumed in noise and nurses.

He found his son,
His first born
And with him felt peace.
He touched him,
Feeling all the love between them,
Knowing words were not necessary.

No one could see him
 As he floated above them,
Save the babies in the nursery
Close by.
Newly arrived,
They were familiar with his destination
And wished him well,
Though they seemed just a bit
Jealous.

makes me think of a quote.." death is not the final bow, but the first curtain call." Thank you for your kind words. mlea

I take this to mean that the person died, and when he got to heaven, his son, who had died before him, was there too. Was this someone close to you ? It is a special kind of poem...one that should be appreciated by all. Thanx, mlea, for this poem.

Thank you, mlea

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
