    Within

To my father DANIEL PAUL DEROCHA June 28, 1960- March 16, 2004

Deep into the ocean of life I swim,
Trying to strive for everything within.
Ever seeking but still I'm sinking,
    Always trying and never finding.
What I need in my life to be free,
Then I stop and now I see.
It's not what I was looking for,
    It's not what I wanted.
But then its clear to me,
The one I seeked all over for.
    Still lied within me,
They might be gone from this world.
But in my heart they'll always be,
For what they left when they past on has forever changed me.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
