    Without

The stars have gone dim, the night grows cold, the moon just fades away
This life is not worth flailing through, without the nearness of you
My days drag on, and on, and on…..and I fall short of what I wanted to do
My very existence becomes meaningless, without the nearness of you
The rain falls upon an empty man, and does not quench this ever thirsty heart
Everything around me seems to fall apart, without the nearness of you
Nothing is really worth having, I have found this to be perpetually true
My life itself seems to be unraveling, without the nearness of you
The light of day becomes strangely dim in my eyes
All hope fails me, even desire shrivels up and dies
Something is lost, exactly what it is…..I haven’t a clue
…..All I know is that nothing is right without the nearness of you….
……And without you, I’m not who I was meant to be
…..And without you, my entire life is nothing but uncertainty
