Wolf Moon Night January 29, 2010

    Wolf Moon

Wolf moon so bright, blazing tonight

    Mystical argentum platter

Come summer days, cloaked in dull haze

    Perigee simply won’t matter.

But through the deep chill, sudden the thrill

Of seeing you larger than ever

    Over the fields, reflection yields

A sun dance along twelfth of never.

Out there with your mass, you glow like milk glass

As though some great bulb shone from behind

For you’re writing your history, this Friday night’s mystery,

Inscribed for all time on my mind.

The orb of night can shine just write, as you did in your choice quilt for wording the mood of the night sky and its allure.

Thank you. It was amazing for western Michigan to be able to see it. We often have overcast skies for nightime astronomical events. This one was impressive!

Thank you for reading. Whether full or just a silver sliver, I am always captivated by the moon. HT

'a sun dance along the twelfth of never...' I still have chills! Your way with words never fails to move me. A beautiful read.

Thank you sweetie! I fused an original thought with one from the sixties. A Sonny and Cher lyric, "Until the twelfth of never, and that's a long, long time..." In answer to the question, "You asked me if I'll love you?"

This is a great write! We have become so accustomed to the beauty of this world, that in some ways we have become blind to it. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for your visit and your insights.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
