Woman
If I had some pencils, then maybe I’d sketch a woman with long, thick black hair.Layers and layers of lead. Stray lines and little smudged ribbons.
If I had a set of pastels, I’d shade her skin a creamy white.
With tan on her hands from gardening and on her cheeks from dancing out on the patio.
If I had some brushes for this paint, I’d make her a skirt with abstract swirls to match her wavy hair.
It would flow and sway…
Little dabs of watercolor on her toenails for every step.
Robin egg blue on her belt around her waist.
If I’d buy some charcoals, I’d make her a blouse. Stretching perfectly around her stomach and shoulders.
Adjusting to every little moment.
All I have is this old typewriter and I guess it’ll have to do.
