    Wonder From Down Under

Take me to the land where winter is warm
And you can hold me in your arms in the thunder storms
Where the ocean waves are big and strong
And wherever you go, I'll follow along
Where the water is deep and always blue
And when you look down, you can see right through
Take me to the place where the wallabes play
And the kangaroos bounce around all day
Put the steak on the barbie and let's eat outside
Where the sun is shining so bright in the sky
Take me to the country where my dreams come true
Because when I sleep, I dream of being with you
Show me how to scuba in the deep blue sea
And let me take in all of the beauty
Teach me to surf the gigantic waves
I know I'll be scared, but I'll try to be brave
Kiss me under the bright light of the moon
Where the stars would shine for just me and you
Walk the streets with me so calm and serene
With my hands in yours as we take in the scene
Pick me a rose beautiful bright  and red
And stick it in the hair on the side of my head
Touch my cheek and close your eyes
Kiss me like it's our last goodbye
Take me to the land where your heart beats
Where the sun beams down with a summer's heat
Take me to Heaven, where our souls will collide
Where our bodies are one, and our hearts reside
Show me your world like it's never been seen
Show me the other side where the grass is green
Where your kiss is candy melting in my mouth
Take me to the place way down south
Show me your heart filled with such wonder
Because you are the beauty of the land down under

i love this. very well written with a nice flow and superior story-telling evidenced here. i felt as though i was there with you in the ocean and taking in the scene on the street.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
