    Wonder…

    Silver, red and tinsel gold

    Pine and popcorn mix

    Tiny lights of colors different

    Hanging trinkets of old

    Drums and bears and little Santas

    Her little hand has to touch

    Ceiling high above its top

    Tree top empty but never bare

    He holds her up

    To get her closer

    In hopes she will reach what hangs in air

    And no one else may know what’s up

    Or maybe their too busy to concern themselves with

    With the angel

    High above them.

    What a marvelous gift of faith, magic, and enchantment! this poem takes me back to my daughter's first Christmas, and her very first word: Lights! Harv
