Words of Withered Blur

Soft flames on top candles will dance.
In the light, my mind is lost in trance.

A broken heart I am no longer driving.
It's you behind the wheel, thriving!

Hundreds of words crossing my mind.
Tonight, I shall break the ties that bind!

I'll walk away from where I don't exist.
Your temptation, I now strongly resist!

Your a coward; an egotistical imbecile!
Our love, your life no longer resembles.

You chose to share our bed, in adultery.
I'll not pretend; hiding my heart in sultry!

No words to describe careless neglect.
My tears are empty; loveless I suspect.

I'll not stand here, torn and tainted.
Her arms is a new canvas well painted!

Once, this was a loyal union in eyes,
It's now erased by your deceitful lies.

Take your love anew away in retreat!
In marriage, my heart no longer beats.

I wanted to sit and write you a letter.
With dignity, I wished to end it better.

But in reality..

I find from my pen, ink splotched in slurs.
Crumbled pages; Words of Withered Blur.

I think it is couragous and helpful to hsare your story with others. Adultery is an awful thing to live with and painful to. It was well written. It was full of pain and confusion. A love once true is now left to unglue.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.

Walt Whitman, American Poet (1819-1892)
