Poem Commentary

To one of the anchors of OP

WordSlinger

John WordSlinger is his name

Poetry out of the ordinary is his game

 Using words and phrases extraordinaire

He soon became the OP Voltaire

We read and read, sometimes perplexed

As we are never sure what's coming next

So we sit in awe of this one so gallant

And just read and enjoy his amazing talent

WordSlinger?- whose this guy again-lol!O' Hampton- he really is so deserving of a poem written to/for him by someone besides myself. He is a poeti storm, and has really changed the course for OP in so many ways. Well the comment factor does get him down from time to time- but, I think most have really good intentions here- just life gets in the way sometimes, and alot of us have to become MIA sometimes. I told John jsy lastnight- its not how many comment- its the quality of the poets who comment that counts. I love the friends who frequent my page- their work, and dedication- I would rather have a few 'real' poet friends comment, then a butt-load of fakers. You are so wonderful Hampton- and you identifying Johns greatness- well, like they say; takes one to know one!!-hugz,Maddi

John is the man. Thanks for coming by.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
