Would you Believe

Would you Believe

would you guess that i never had a clue
or even knew, if he showed, what to do?

would you guess that my pride was present

discontent and grief had my heart spent?

would you guess that imagination gave me life

blocking stains, bites, blues and strife?

would you guess that immaturity is me

that ships crash, as i sit and see?

would you guess that i play the fool

who doesnt know that time is a tool?

would you guess that i fear the dark

death would come if not for a spark?

would you guess that i miss so much

a past filled with sun, smiles and such?

would you believe how much i have lost

in just 23, a wealth of treasure tossed?

would you believe how everyone goes away

no see you laters, no byes, just not here today

would you believe how hard it gets

being alone, looking out, hugging regrets..........

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
