    Poem Commentary

After running for so long from everything that life has done to bring you to your knees... there will come a point in your life when you cant run anymore and whatever it is that you are toting around you will have to take it out of the bag and deal with it, because my dear hearts, you will never be able to move forward. I dont know if i am at that place or not, but I am ready to lay my burderns down.

Wouldn't take nothing for my Burderns Now

Wouldn't take nothing for my Burdens Now

    I am a solution
From this world I am dissolved so please excuse my pardon
    as I give my salutations
My temporary Good-bye if you will
    I need to breathe
This life at this moment in time won’t allow me to inhale
    And release
There behind me is this bag and in it I carry all of my stuff around
    Now I am dragging
And when I say that life won’t allow me to go any further
    I mean just that
I have come to a point where no steamer trunk,
or wagon, or freight train will help me make my passage past the border
    I am done
When I boarded for flight 157 to Africa, I was told that I had too many carry on's that the carry-offs were laughable
    "Excuse me ma'am"
'Yes' as life would have me to respond
"Ma'am, I reckon that you need to leave some of your stuff behind because we cannot allow you to move forward with all of this
    "baggage"
With one hand perched behind my back, dangling from my straining, purplish fingers, I turn around to face her and all of my stuff and I weep.
She imitates life and takes the bag from my hand and she rips it open, and piece by piece every issue falls to my feet
Every heartache drops to my knees
Every hidden corner of unforgiveness dissolves with the wind
And she frees my other bags
    God Almighty I am free
I cry, this first tear falls
and I see the Glory of God
    I am free
Another drop escapes me and I holler hallelujah for casting my burdens aside
I weep again and I am rejuvenated
    By God I am Free
    I am Free
