Wounded Heart

Wounded Heart

To what reason should I love you
For what have you given
For all the sacrifices I have made
Do I owe you for the time you provided me
Have I not done the same
How could someone love you by the habbits that you hold
How could someone love you with your bitterness and cold
You say you are handsome well attracted I am not
For I see the heart of you and it is black with rot
I've seen the softest side of you with your sensitive ways
But your darker side of you fills most of your days.
I try to see the beauty of you
The one you hold inside
But everytime I get to close to it
You push me to the side
You say you are not parcial and with everyone you are the same
I just don't understand it why I keep running to this pain
I am hopful I can heal you
But I receive hurt instead
Why you wont let me near to you
But now I see its for the best
You hold your own heart dear to you
So that no one could ever hurt it
Like is has been done in the past.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
