Poem Commentary

For my son, my baby (even if he is 7 he's still my baby) Wyatt.

Wyatt's Song (For my Son)

Watching you play, I realize,
How you're becoming more like me,
Not just in looks, but in attitude,
And in your sensitivity,

You are so very smart,
Like I was at your age,
They say you're immature,
I hope it's just a phase...

In any case I love you,
You'll always be my little boy,
My baby and my shining star,
Who fills my heart with joy,
I see the world through your eyes,
Like it's my first time,
And though I have nothing but love to give,
You are still satisfied,
You are my light... So bright.

Watching you sleep,
I see such peace,
The peace you should have while your awake,
But, you have so many worries, and hurtful things to face,
That you should not have at your age,

You hurt because you can't,
Be with me all the time,
But, my child, just know a day will come,
When everything will be just fine...

Wyatt, I love you so much,
You'll always be my little boy,
My baby and my shining star,
Who fills my heart with joy,
Though you're not with me all the time,
No one can take away,
The special love you and I share,
And I'll be in your heart always...

Wyatt I love you so much,
You'll always be my little boy,
My baby and my shining star,
Who fills my heart with joy,
I see the world through your eyes,
Like it's my first time,
And though I have nothing but love to give,
You are still satisfied...
Though you're not with me all the time,
No one can take away,
The special love you and I share,
And I'll be in your heart always...
You are my light...
You are my light...
You are my light.......
So bright...
