    Poem Commentary

So many times I find myself getting caught up in events that happened in the past, or on things that might take place in the future. I forget to realize that today, this moment, might be all I have. I do not control the future, nor can I change the past. Live one day, one moment at a time and be thankful. It might be your last sunset.

    Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow

    Yesterday is a faded dream
Just a memory of the past
Like a rose that blooms upon the vine
It was never meant to last

    Tomorrow is only images
Of things that are yet to be
    Visions of the future
Of events we can not see

Today is the moment we have to live
For we know not what tomorrow brings
So lift your spirit toward the sky
    And soar on eagles wings

Lonewolf, Well put, my friend. Live in the moment, hope for the future and learn from the past...

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
