Yo-yo effect

Poem Commentary

I wrote this after having dealt with someone close...

Yo-yo effect

Once again caught up in what I call the Yo-yo effect,
The slinky being tossed down the stairs again and again,
The rope getting torn and yanked back and forth in tug a war,
And when you're done all that's left of me is a wreck,
So what do you want from me?
I give you everything,
My life, my heart, my soul, my all,
All I wanted was some honesty,
But you continue to abuse this,
Bending it to your will,
Molding it as you want,
I just want to end it with a nice sharp painful twist,
You drag me back into the shadows,
Putty in your hands,
Molded to fit the image you have of me,
But there's no time to wallow,
I fight back, I walk away,
But you drag me back again,
Kicking, screaming, crying,
You make it so I stay,
Again I'm caught up in your Yo-yo effect,
Up and down up and down,
Back and forth, abuse and love,
I pray this time you'll be the wreck,
As my world once again collides,
Spinning crashing in you,
Dragging me down into the dark abyss,
Where we both now coincide....
