You Said

You said
you would always be there
You said
you would always be a friend
But time
and time again
you left me hanging by a thread.
You left me
floating on a endless sea
For you my anchor
was no where to be
seen.
So
I will just keep on drifting
far away
with no life support lighthouse
to guide my way.

Hmm, this seems very distant; it's message feels like an invitation to heartbreak. I like it. Good stuff.

Whoever left you affected you deeply. I've read three of your poems now and they all send that message. So much is said in just a few words. Beautifully done.

While reading this I read between the lines... I hear a strong person who accepts that she was disappointed and is going to keep her head held high and keep walking; slowly and maybe unsteady at first, but shes going to keep walking... Wonderful job, Allie dear.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
