You vs Him

You vs Him

Although there's no comparison
I thought I would do so
He just sees the outside
When it's the inside that you know

He thinks he gets my complex words
He only remembers me from six years ago
He doesn't know what I've heard
He tries to hard and he lets it show

You know the meaning of my sentences
You see who I am today
You know what I heard and try to gain repentence
You make it easy and I like it that way

He drinks and smokes on the weekends
He thinks its cute to act ghetto
He smiles but I know it's pretend
He fakes to be someone I know

You listen to Owl City and fix cars
You have been a thug before
You have the truest eyes that glisten like stars
You are always real to me, nothing less or nothing more

I told myself I'd never come to this
But it's proof to you
That my feelings do exist
And that to you I'll always be true

When the apology ran from his mouth
I accepted it and thought of you
I thought of when things went south
And sang you a song to the moon, like I always do

He can never be you
You are nothing like him
Nor do I ever want you to
For he is just a whim

You are wonderful,
Everything,
One thing,
Perfect.
