    It's the gong
    for me, not you

    I confess
    It's not the first
    You're the best
    I've been the worst

    It's not hard
    to tell you so
    dropping guard
    I love, you know

    You're the best
    But I am too
    We're the best
    We're just like glue

    So I say
    Right to your eyes
    From today
    There's no more lies

    I think it takes caring - to admit one is wrong allows the other in. Otherwise they are kept out while we hold on tightly to our own ego. Yes? The running together of the words in the beginning are words said under the breath. But ends with a clear declaration.

    I like this poem.. It is presented very well and the idea of letting go to let someone else know they were right makes you that much more powerful... However I am confused when you say that "we are the best". Do you really believe that? Or do you more believe that people are only as good as they need to be?

    Although this was 'our of my head' so to speak, and not a real situation - when you love, even when taking the blame, you identify with them too. WE are the best does not separate it holds together Thanks for reading and your comments..

    The running the words together was meant to be a reluctant confession - until finally the real and honest confession. Glad you enjoyed it.G
