Why Can't I

Why Can't I

If the birds can reach high over the clouds
and across the sea

Then why can't i?

If the waves of the ocean can reach far above the heads of man

Then why cant i?

And if the radio plays a soul searching beat that moves every mans feet

Then why can't I?

Pleasure is cause
in the affect of pain

so if sadness can find joy in the arms of love's rain

Then why can't I?

And if Mother Terese Could fight for peace with a hug

Then why can't I?

Bound by the collar of man

But if the wind can carry the
words of a thousand voices

Then why can't i?

And if my father learned to live again

Then why can't i

And if my children believe in the gift
of wishing on a star

Then why can't i?

and the homeless man find shelter from the rain
a once battered woman felt love beyond her pain

And if an Eagle
can spread it's wings
in hopes of daring us all to dream

Then why cant I? ......

why don't you?

Re: Why Can't I

we ask why and ponder such grand schemes that it can make your head spin! I love it, hun!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
