    19 Let Downs

I’m doing as I’ve always done on this day

    Stand alone

    Yet again there for myself

    Another let down

    Just another girl

    Nothing special about her

    Just like the rest

    She lost me tonight

    Because she lied to me

    She put herself first

On the one day I needed her

    More than any other

I thought she knew me better

    Clearly not

    Just another girl

To be treated like any other

    Nothing special

    Just another let down

    What does she care

    Clearly nothing

    For she repeated the error

    Of seven years ago

    Abandoned me

Good bye cruel and selfish let down

Same let down just a different name…

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
