    A Coyote's Lament

    Lonely,
    Alone,
    With no moon in sight;
    A solitary coyote cries.
    ‘Who am I to be so accursed?
    ‘Life lacks meaning when alone,’
    ‘Its Better to have someone to love and behold.’
    ‘Where is thy light?’
    ‘That brightens this sky?’
    Longing,
    He calls for his beloved,
    Deep into the night.


    Upon gracing the evening sky,
    The moon replied, 'Why do you cry?'
    'I am yours, and you are mine.'

    'Our separation is not a matter of distance,
    but of illusion.'

    'We are just a reflection
    of the one yet to come.'

    Just then,
    The moon and the coyote could be seen,
    Mirrored upon a lake of tranquility,
    Silhouettes rippling in the breeze....
