Poem Commentary

This was written by my father, to my mother, before the married in 1956. She kept him until she passed away in 2000 from cancer.

A Letter to Jane

I'll write you a letter,
That's what i'll do,
Telling of my love for you:

I've tried to tell you of this before,
But everyday theres more and more:
Your love's like the oceans surging tide,
Dragging me under so I can hide,
From life's cruel taunting threats
That come with each day,
One kiss from you and they fade away.
My thoughts are of you
Through day and night,
My soul is at peace,
While you are in my sight.
So won't you, Please,
Love me, right or wrong,
And keep me till something better comes along?
