A man to talk to
I really just want to talk to a man
to open my mouth and thoughts if i can
lend him an ear anticipate his words
understand his strengths or fears to be heard
reach out with my hand if needs be taken
stir my heart and let feelings awaken
to converse about this, that or other
of politics, trains, baseball or lovers
of stories, poems, music or better
what interests him from thought to the letter
not worry about time to come or go
or when we finish we just sort of know
and look forward to when we do it again
just talk to a man, compadre and friend.
