    A Soldier's Story

The gun is placed upon the rack,
    The uniform away.
But still there is a loneliness,
    That clings upon this day.

Her husband, a medal he has won,
To show the things that he has done.
He gave his life with loyalty,
To prove he believed in democracy.

The day her son becomes a man,
He'll take that gun with a steady hand,
He'll wear the uniform with pride,
And say for my country, I'll fight and die.

    There'll be more wars,
    There'll be more fights,
    Until this country,
    Is set right!

WOW! What emotions what a sad story for a Soldier and the next one to come. How about no more war, no more fights. Life is to precious for war and more war. Let the next generation sit it out there are others who can set things right.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
