    A Tragic End

    A Tragic End
As I sit in silence, I try to comprehend,
How one day were lovers and the next barely friends,
How does one comprehend beautiful beginnings to tragic ends,
And compassionate loves to sad spoken friends.

Love is a gift that has no end,
So tell me why were just friends. I know there’s no use in making amense,
I’d give anything to be more than friends.

As I sit in silence, I start to cry,
For what we had and how it died.
But I can’t remember for it was so long ago,
So tell me why I miss you so.

Although I know I should let you go,
My heart and soul keep telling me no,
For I had given then to you a long time ago,
And that is how I know I can’t let go.

As I sit in silence, I begin to die,
Because I have finally seen love pass me by.
For the love we shared has come and gone,
And know I know I must move on.

For I loved you once and I will love you forever,
But in my heart I know we’ll never be together.

    Great Poem

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
