    Poem Commentary

This was based on a music video(The way I feel) by 12 stones and conversations with friends of mine.

    A voice to be heard

A young man am I with nothing but my words
A poem to be written a voice to be heard
Parents who don't know friends who don't understand
The uncertainty if my future the shadows of my past
The mistakes I've made put me to shame
They cloud my mind every single day
I hate being stuck in this place
Where it feels like there is no escape
Things have never been this bad before
I just don't know what to do anymore
Parents are fighting in the next room
It seems like this is all that they do
I try my hardest to drown them out
But the music isn't loud enough
Things at school are even worse than home
Labeled a freak, forced to be all alone
I wish there was someone I could tell
That my life has become a  living hell
    But no one even cares
    There isn't anybody there
Will it always be this way
Will I ever have a good day
Again I pick up my pad and my pen
This is the only way that I can vent
Poetry is my only escape from a life
That is filled with pain and strife
So I need to write these words
Because my voice needs to be heard

I think this poem is a very good start. Yet, let WordSlinger teach you. The guy is the master; he is likely one of the best here. Kah is very good too. When you write, consider using paragraph divisions so that the reader can see the transition throughout. Aletrnate ryhyming schemes can also be used....the poetry school will demonstrate thsi to you. Consider your punctuation, this also is just as important as your words.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
