    A Year

    A year approaches
    A year departs
From the heat and warmth of March
The rainy and dreary days days of Summer
    The painful days of Autumn
    The tears of December
The days when a moment was all we could take in
When a breath was dragged out in pain
    Of joys and laughter
    Hope-filled songs
Remember the hope with which we faced the day
    A year ago
With hope and a tinge of sadness
Of days when tears weren't enough
Days we couldn't block it out

    Hide me, Sprint me away

    From Birthdays unrejoiced
    Unmake the year,
Make the year remembered no more
From betrayals, to shame, to red rage
From November days of wiping tears

    HIde me, sprint me away

Of Christmas unmarked but by prayer
    Of sin and forgiveness
The joy of family and laughter
    The pain of Nothingness
    Yearning and aloofness
    A year passes

    Hide me, Sprint me away

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
