    All I Want

All I want is quiet gentle moments to think about what I thought life should be as a child.
All the wonderful happy feelings, laughing,
and never once felt sad. Work for everyone was a must, and family meeting on Sunday.

Same dinner and conversations, you almost always knew what the day would bring.
Lots of flowers, lots of sun, peacefulness, wind blowing in your face.
Smell of lilacs in the air.
Walking along dirt roads and throwing pebbles in the stream.

Patten leather shoes, all shined and lace on your dress. Cookies at the bakery and fresh cream.
A candy bar for 5 cents, wow what a dream.
Then I met myself in the mirror,
and the smile was gone, no more lilacs, no more Sunday dinners, and no more conversations.

I took this picture and put it in the back of my mind. I bring it out once in a while, so that I may feel peacefulness again, in my heart,
my smile will return and one day reality will bring that smile to me again.

You have a way with words... very nice.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
