Daddy's Little Girl

Daddy's Little Girl

You put me on earth
Only to break my heart
You turned away
When you should have stayed
You made me cry
Instead of smile

I want you dad
With all of my heart
Alas you and I
Are so far apart

Daddy's little girl
Is what I wanted to be
So I look at pictures
When I want to be near

Daddy you left me
Put a pain in my heart
I only feel better
When I start to cry

When your old and grey
Left alone and afraid
Just call out my name
I will light your way

A candle burns deeply
Within my heart
Will continue to do so
Until that time you return
To claim your daughter
Hurry you have already
Wasted so much time

A beauiful work you've created pertaining to Daddy's Little Girl. To keep an open heart is a wonderful trait. Great write.

Thank you StandingBear.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
